Big Oroshigane - Tawashi bundle
The oroshigane pictured here is a very desirable object for the kitchen, made of tin-plated copper. The grates are very sharp indeed, and can be used to grate daikon radish, root vegetables, ginger, wasabi, horseradish and more. Crafted just outside of Tokyo with the finest metal from Japan’s Tsubame Sanjo, each line is hand hammered into the plate. We have two different sizes available - large pictured here (22.5cm x 13cm) or small (9.2cm x 5.8cm). The large version is double-sided, with large grates on one side and smaller on the other; it has a hole in the top of the handle so that it can be hung in pride of place in your kitchen. Best cleaned with a tawashi brush, which comes in this bundle!
The tawashi brush is a classic design, this one made with local windmill palm fibres in Wakayama.
